This disclaimer pertains to the information found on the NIAID Data Ecosystem Discovery Portal. The Discovery Portal searches for infectious and immune-mediated disease (IID) data within NIAID-supported data and the larger IID community. The Discovery Portal does not contain or create the data, but rather collects and presents information about each dataset. The presence of any dataset does not imply an endorsement of, or concurrence with, the contents by NIAID, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), or the U.S. Federal Government.

Discovery Portal Content

Datasets are not stored in the Discovery Portal. The Discovery Portal indexes metadata (a set of data that describes and gives information about other data) from included repositories to support search queries. The Discovery Portal collects metadata from select repositories, aligns repository metadata with the Discovery Portal metadata schema, and provides links to dataset landing pages within respective repositories. The Discovery Portal does not aggregate every infectious and immune-mediated disease (IID) dataset and search results may include information that is not directly related to IID data.

The quality of individual datasets or related content are not reviewed. Each repository maintains its own data to meet their specific requirements. Repositories are responsible for content on their own sites. For more information about Discovery Portal content, visit the About page.

Links to Other Sites

The Discovery Portal links to dataset landing pages in respective repositories to facilitate dataset access. Dataset access is managed by the repository.

This graphic notice means that you are leaving the Discovery Portal. You will be subject to the destination site's privacy policy when you follow such links.

The Discovery Portal’s data and metadata relies on external website resources that are outside NIAID's control. Please contact us via email or report to us if you encounter broken links or incorrect content.

Metadata fields may be incomplete. The Discovery Portal attempts to standardize metadata that is made available by data repositories. If metadata from the repositories is missing or incomplete, it will also be missing or incomplete within the Discovery Portal. NIAID is working with the community to improve the completeness, quality, and consistency of metadata, in accordance with the FAIR Guiding Principles.

The Discovery Portal is responsible for satisfying all policy requirements related to content provided by a third-party site. However, on third-party sites, the Discovery Portal is responsible only for the content that the Discovery Portal controls. All other content is owned and controlled by the third-party site.

The Discovery Portal complies with Section 508 accessibility regulations and is not responsible for Section 508 compliance (accessibility) on other federal or private websites.

Endorsement

The Discovery Portal cannot attest to the accuracy of a non-federal site. Linking to a non-federal site does not constitute an endorsement by NIH or any of its employees or the sponsors or the information and products presented on the site. The views and opinions of dataset authors in the Discovery Portal do not necessarily state or reflect those of the U.S. Government, and they may not be used for advertising or product endorsement purposes.
